About Rosie's School of Rock

Learning an instrument is a lasting accomplishment, something your kids will enjoy forever. We deliver this in an exciting and motivating way. We help kids make friends, teach self discipline and boost their social status and overall intellectual development.

Whether you want to tour the world in a famous rock band or just jam along to a CD in your bedroom you can expect to be treated the same way at Rosie’s School of Rock. We treat all of our students as musicians, regardless of musical aspirations, ability or experience. While our programs are tailored for the individual, they are all based on the same principles and philosophy. The School of Rock approach works just as well for Roadies as it does for aspiring Rockstars.

Our teaching philosophy gets you playing right away. Our focus is on developing your confidence to just get up and “have a go”, we refer to this as “Stage Confidence”. Besides helping you to develop your skills on your instrument, we provide you with the practical knowledge needed to perform a “real gig”.

Rosie’s School of Rock is a facility that operates under the guidance of one of Australia’s most successful musicians.

No one else can bring the passion, enthusiasm and music industry experience to a teaching facility as well as Craig “Rosie” Rosevear. All students and parents will have face to face contact with Rosie who will regularly check in on all students and update parents on their kid’s progress.

The school has an open door policy. Any parent or friend is welcome to sit in on their child’s lesson. You can call at any time to get an update on your child’s progress or to check on what they should be working on at home. All staff have been subject to The Working With Children Check which prohibits people convicted of child related offences from working with children.

Premises
Our School is located at 461A King St Newcastle at the intersection of King and Steel Streets. Look for us between McDonalds and Market Town shopping centre.
Upon entering the School you will be transformed into a virtual backstage area and greeted by our friendly and efficient “Tour Manager” Belinda. Our soundproof individual rooms are provided fully equipped.
Once you enroll and pay for the term you will be provided with a GigBag full of Rock n Roll goodies.

From Roadie to Rockstar
Just like SLASH, FLEA, PINK or any other successful Rockstar, to get to the top you will need to start at the bottom. Upon enrolling you will be awarded “Roadie” status, this is a pretty cool gig. No pressure - you’re there to learn and have fun. But we’ll have you up on stage within the year.

Once you have developed your skills you will probably feel ready to become a “Muso”. At this level you will feel more confident on your instrument and maybe even want to get on stage and perform a couple of songs.

Eventually most muso’s have dreams of becoming a “Future Rockstar”. At this level you will be a Rockstar in the making and will have the skills and confidence to match.

It’s a long way to the top if you wanna Rock n Roll !!....you’re now almost ready to graduate from Rosie's School of Rock. Your experience skills and ability just need a few tweaks here and there…you are now a “Rockstar” and are ready to be unleashed onto an adoring public.

Support Band Program
For those who don’t wanna jam on their own, Rosie will help. Our “Support Band” program will help you put your own band together, learn a set, get onstage and maybe even record your first CD.
